"When the mind wanders late at night, one is left in the wake of a boat that has torn a path through the head." --Me

I frequently find myself wandering about in my head late at night, bouncing from topic to topic like I suppose one would if they were to bar hop. After thinking as much as you can on one topic, I will get up and mindlessly wander to another topic only to repeat the process. These thoughts I think are usually me over analyzing something I have found. If I'm not going over something in my head and building it up to something tall and insurmountable, I'm thinking of faults of mine.

A wise man I have been talking to has told me everyone goes through life looking around the room and seeing how everyone has it all under control, and they look at themselves as the only one with problems. People go through life with a mask, covering up what they don't want others to find out. While I understand all of this and see the logic, I cannot help but to think as I lay around at night about things going on and feel like I cannot overcome my own personal mountains.

After all of this, I must think, what damage have the waves of the ships tearing through the head done on the shores of the mind?
